| Sunday Worship Lent II,
Taizé Service |
Sun., Feb. 28 |
Don Parsons preaching, Taizé Service
A Service of Prayer with the Songs of Taizé
Founded during WWII by Brother Roger, the ecumenical community of Taizé, nestled in the hills of Burgundy, France. Worship three times a day (shaped by rich congregational song, scripture, silence, candles and fresh flowers) is the heartbeat of this community's life. The simple prayer/songs of Taizé become a kind of mantra as they are sung over and over with rich harmonies, expressive cantor and instrumental parts moving us into a deep communion with God. People of every faith tradition find Taizé profoundly meaningful. We will devote our morning service to this more reflective experience of worship. |
