Biography
Rebecca Collett received a Master of Music in Opera at the University of Toronto, where she studied with Jean MacPhail. Rebecca holds a BMus from the University of Western Ontario, and has also attended the Chautauqua Institute School of Singing, studying with staff from Juilliard, Curtis and the Metropolitan Opera.
She has performed with choirs throughout Southern Ontario as soloist, including performances of Messiah, Beethoven's C Major Mass, Raminsh's Magnificat, Carissimi's Jeptha, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610. Her operatic roles performed at the University of Toronto include Clarice (Il mondo della luna), La Princesse/La Bergère (L'Enfant et les Sortilèges), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel).
Other operatic roles performed: Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) for Concert Opera Group, Alice Ford (Falstaff) for Summer Opera Lyric Theatre, and La Contessa Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro) for Halifax Summer Opera Workshop.
