Musicianship Through Movement
Our Director of Music, Peter Merrick, has recently discovered an exciting approach to teaching musical skills and concepts, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, and is pursuing certification in the study. In Dalcroze, learning is deep and effortless because it’s fully embodied. It’s also fun because it uses musical games almost exclusively as the vehicle for learning.
Peter has shared some of what he has learned with the choir, in two workshops that will be open to other members of the congregation.

More Comfort, More Joy
Last year’s ‘Sing with Comfort and Joy’ was a resounding success! Participants, for whom singing meant neither comfort nor joy, explored their voices, played games and experienced the fun of singing in a relaxed atmosphere.
There has been a lot of demand for an encore, so here it is: ‘More Comfort, More Joy.’ You can expect to make friends with your voice, explore music through movement, drumming and games and generally have a great time! Graduates and novices equally welcome.
